Industry leading test-prep publisher Barron’s has released a new ACT Flashcard series written by EIA President Jim Giovannini and his partner Patsy Prince, co-owners of Academic Educational Resources and Academic Tutoring Centers (Chicago, Illinois). This all-new set of test-preparation flash cards is designed to give prospective ACT test-takers the help they’re looking for. The cards cover all five sections of the ACT and include test-taking tips and strategies, important facts, and practice problems that mirror questions on the ACT. All cards have corner punch holes that accommodate an enclosed metal key-ring-style card holder. Students can use the ring to arrange flash cards in sequences that best fit their study needs. ATC Co-Founder Assumes National Leadership Role

Jim Giovannini, co-founder and owner of Academic Tutoring Centers has been elected President of the Board of Directors for the Education Industry Association (EIA). EIA represents business and public education organizations and addresses issues regarding education on local, regional, and national levels. As the leader of EIA, Jim will be working to ensure that new legislation continues to recognize the importance of private providers and quality public education. Congratulations to Jim on being acknowledged for his 20 years of dedication to improving our educational system.

Highland Park Office Receives Honors and Awards

In 2010, Academic Tutoring Centers was recognized for the many ways we give back to the community.

Patsy Prince, co-founder and owner, was awarded the Character Counts Pillar Award in recognition of her commitment to her students.

Beth Sosler, who has been a tutor in our office for over 15 years, was also a recipient of the Character Counts Pillar Award for work with students in several programs at the HPHS.

Marci Minorini, Director of Community Relations, was named Highland Park Chamber Member of The Year for her outstanding work in the community.

We appreciate these awards and remain dedicated to providing continued exceptional service to our students, our schools and the community.
